The Low Demand Course
The next community starts January 25, 2026.
Welcome to low demand...
where shame, fear, and exhaustion melt away, and families finally start thriving.
If you work with neurodivergent families who face aggression, chronic resistance, explosions, or burnout, you're in the right place. Maybe you live this life too, which only motivates MORE you to seek better solutions for the kids and families you work with.
The challenges you're facing have got you stumped and struggling. It's time to get unstuck and build your toolbox, so you can help kids and families thrive.
This course is for both caregivers and professionals who work with families. Some of you are both! The Low Demand Course includes custom features for each cohort, even as we learn the method together. The "Professional" track includes additional training, "Low Demand Certification," and the licensing to use low demand materials in your own practice.
I'm a...
You've tried everything... and it's still not working.
You’ve built trust.
You’ve made clear boundaries.
You’ve poured all your expertise in supporting these families — and still the aggression, the burnout, the daily chaos continues.
HOP STRAIGHT TO THE DETAILS.
You're
EXHAUSTED.
You're
CONFUSED.
Why are some kids not responding well to everything your training tells is "best practices"? And how do you help these overwhelmed families who are stretched to the max?
- It seems like, no matter what you do, some kids get worse the harder you push.
- But your training didn't prepare you for these scenarios.
- And it's scary: They're hitting siblings, screaming at their parents, struggling to go to school.
You understand the basics of low demand.
But when it comes to your work, you've got important questions. Even if you can answer them for yourself, how do you answer them for skeptical families?
What's the theory of change here?
How do we know this really works?
And what do we do with restricted eating, self-harm, aggression, suicidality, agoraphobia -- in other words, when things are really, really hard?
And honestly, this intersects with your own life, too. How do you keep up this pace, when helping struggling families leaves you so bone-dry exhausted?
Here's how this approach helps struggling families:
“I am not exaggerating when I say that Amanda's course really changed my family's life.
We were already implementing a low-demand lifestyle after reading her excellent book, but the chance to go deeper with Amanda herself has helped us truly understand and connect with the why of all the changes we are making. And it has made SUCH a difference for all of us in terms of prioritizing trust and connection and focusing on healing our nervous systems.”
- Julie

TELL ME MORE.
WHAT IF ONE SHIFT COULD TRANSFORM EVERYTHING?
“My daughter was in an almost constant meltdown, with small glimpses of regulation. She was violent and abusive to her brother and to us – it was an incredibly rough time.
Fast forward to now, just a handful of months later of truly implementing Amanda’s Low Demand Parenting and violence is WAY down, sleep has become accessible and we have been able to start homeschooling. It has been a complete 180 turnaround.
Working with Amanda has been a transformative, life-giving experience.”
— Rachel, mother of two
That’s what we do inside this course.
We'll dig into the science, wade into complexity, and nestle into community, so we can support our clients to go from surviving to thriving. Not by learning yet another rigid technique to "fix" people, but by releasing the pressure, healing the nervous system, and rediscovering what really matters.
THE LOW DEMAND COURSE

Meet Your Guide.
Hi, I’m Amanda.
I’m an ordained pastor, Duke grad, low-key woodworker, and former National Trampoline Champion (yep, seriously). I’m also a mama of three amazing kids, a late-diagnosed Autistic adult, and a survivor of parenting PTSD.
For two soul-crushing years, I had no roadmap for parenting my PDA Autistic six-year-old.
I was drowning—and everyone kept handing me the same tired advice:
More boundaries. More consistency. More calm.
Just be firmer. Just be gentler. Just try harder.
None of it worked. And worse, it fed a toxic lie:
If your child is struggling, it’s your fault.
This lie stole my joy and my connection with my kids. So I stopped trying to fix my family and started healing it.
And that’s how The Low Demand Method was born!
Today, hundreds of families are reclaiming peace at home—not by pushing harder, but by dropping demands, practicing radical acceptance, and choosing connection over control.
It’s not perfect. Some days are still so hard.
But the shame spiral is gone. My kids are thriving. I have energy again.
And most importantly—I get to enjoy my wild, beautiful life.
I want that for you, too.
Finally get the support and tools you need to turn
“survival” into “THRIVING.”
And here’s what truly sets this program apart!

WHAT OTHERS
HAVE EXPERIENCED
“Tears are literally streaming down my face. This life is so hard.
I wanted to tell you that your course is literally a balm to my soul.
Your understanding of the needs of our kids AND our needs is so comforting. It is so easy to forget that we, as the parent, have needs too. I love the way you give us permission to not have to be super parent every minute of every day. I also love how you explain that by taking care of ourselves we really are taking care of our kids. Many people give the 'air mask on the plane' scenario, but you really make it real.”
- Stephanie, mom of two, from a note shared with me on week 2 of the course
Let’s make sure this is the right place for you.
This course is for you if:
- You're a professional who believes in a neurodiversity-affirming approach and wants to learn from both professional expertise and lived experience.
- You've tried incorporating some low demand techniques, but worry if you’re doing it right, OR you're an experienced low demand practitioner, looking to deepen your journey.
- You're eager to learn and support other parents and professionals in a collaborative learning environment.
- You want support from others who get your values and struggles, without judgment.
This course is not for you, right now, if:
- Your ultimate goal is to “fix” a child or teen's behavior, or you lean heavily on rewards and punishments in your practice.
- You do not want to learn from a parent who is not a licensed professional.
- You are in the midst of, or are just leaving, an acute crisis moment in your own life.
- You can’t commit to a month-long course or meetings because your schedule is just too tight.

FAQS
I struggle with courses. How much time is required?
Do I need to have all the modules finished each week? What happens if I can't make one of the LIVE Q&A sessions?
I’ve read so many parenting books. What makes this different?
Can’t I just try to piece a plan together from reading your book or watching your IG? Why should I join the Low Demand Parenting course now?
I feel like I have a professional situation that no one else has. What if the kids and families I serve are too hard, or I'm too burnt out to learn anything?
Is this only for diagnosed neurodivergent or PDA kids? I serve lots of families without diagnoses, and so I don't know if we even need low demand.
I saw you were formerly a pastor. Are there religious materials in the program?
Am I truly welcome here? Are you Queer affirming?
“Amanda is so authentic in all that she brings to the course. She is extremely knowledgeable and is a great model for using the skills she’s teaching.
She is able to hold the community with kindness and grace so that parents/caregivers feel seen, validated, and held in this journey."
